World Vision Canada: Writing for Rights Book

Showcasing the young voices of innovation.

The Convention on the Rights of the Child has been a landmark change for children across the globe. This exceptional document outlines the universal standards of care for all people under the age of 18 and is the most widely endorsed human rights treaty in history. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Convention, World Vision Canada commissioned Rmrkbl to design the “Writing for Rights” book to capture the stories of children worldwide.

Lifting up the voices of youth.

World Vision Canada wanted the timely report to feature 25 letters from 25 children around the world reflecting on what child rights mean to them. Rmrkbl worked with World Vision Canada to define a clear content strategy and embedded its brand throughout the materials.

Rmrkbl showcased the collection of stories through a bright and youthful design and developed a microsite for visitors to easily access each child’s letter, allowing them to further connect with the stories by hearing their voices. Users got a snapshot of each letter with an image of the author, country, and tags associated with the content, enhancing the digital experience. This helped capture the meaning of child rights from children themselves.

The results.

The immersive storytelling across channels with strong brand elements throughout highlighted the young voices of innovation. The user journey provided readers who felt inspired a seamless experience to get involved through child sponsorship, donating, and sharing the stories with their networks.
