Sinte Gleska University: Case for Support

Sinte Gleska University is a groundbreaking institution on tribal land, serving tribal communities. The university’s elders recognized the need for an institution of higher learning that centered the Lakota way of life. Sinte Gleska ensures that its education takes students beyond the customary versions of American history that diminish the contributions of Native Americans, obscure the abuses they have endured at the hands of those in power, and dilute the richness of tribal culture. SGU strives to build a healthy nation and sustain cultural indentity by developing critical-minded lifelong learners who promote dialogue, value diversity and provide leadership.

Designing a new approach for growth.

Rmrkbl was approached to design a fresh case for support, visually telling the story of SGU and capturing its compelling work in order attain the fundraising necessary to develop students into community leaders, grounded in Lakota culture. The brochure mixed images and content that reflect the University’s religiously serious, liberal arts education and its position as a leading research university.

The results.

Rmrkbl designed the brochure, which captured the University’s history, growth, along with opportunities for donors and supporters to help create an enduring home for learning, culture and spirituality, and saw it through print production and client delivery. It has been used as a major tool for fundraising by the University.
