Clerestory Fine Art
Creating a brand for a local gallery featuring diverse artists.
Clerestory Fine Art was established to showcase artists from Montclair and surrounding northern New Jersey towns. Clerestory presents museum-quality work and collaborates with local arts organizations and collectors in pursuit of making collecting art less intimidating and more accessible. Its brand needed to reflect the gallery’s name, “Clerestory,” the architectural term for the most elevated row of windows in a church, designed to let light in.
Reaching audiences through strategic and sleek branding.
In addition to its link to architecture, “Clerestory” has come to symbolize all that is new and promising – enlightenment, fresh air, and aspiration. That’s the message and feeling Clerestory aimed to share with its community through art, and first, through its branding. Rmrkbl worked with Clerestory to understand its brand goals and determine the creative direction of its identity that would be recognizable by its community – including those interested in art and artists.
The results.
Rmrkbl created a sophisticated and modern identity, reinforcing the gallery owner and director’s international curatorial background while also remaining confidently understated. Ongoing work includes print and digital catalogues, postcards, and posters and signage.
